Integrated Policy

The National Laboratory of Virology is committed to high-quality research and development activities, especially those related of viral pathogens. Our aim is to contribute to national and global pandemic preparedness and prevention strategies by effectively managing epdiemics with state-of-the-art technologies and methods. VNL is interested in several major focus areas of modern epidemiology, including the ecological and molecular biology of pathogens of epidemic-causing pathogens, the development of diagnostics and therapeutics, and the molecular function of disease-causing pathogens. VNL is committed to complying with the requirements of the MSZ EN ISO 9001 and MSZ ISO 45001 standards, along which it has established its Integrated Management System for Infectious Disease Research and Development. Management ensures that the integrated policy and objectives are defined and aligned with the strategy and goals of the organization.

 

The VNL aims to:

  • Achieve internationally recognized research results in virology.
  • Develop innovative tests and antiviral agents for use in medical practice.
  • Develop and apply new disease prevention and epidemiological testing technologies.
  • Continuously improve the quality management system and the occupational health and safety management system (together, the integrated management system), in accordance with ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 requirements.

 

To ensure the continuous improvement of the Integrated Management System, management regularly reviews its effectiveness. All VNL staff are responsible for complying with the requirements of the Integrated Management System and for achieving the integrated objectives. Necessary resources are provided, including qualified staff, modern laboratory equipment and a suitable work environment re provided. VNL supports professional development and awareness of the quality MEB management systems through regular training and education. Clear communication of integrated policies and objectives ensures all staff have access to and understand key information. VNL maintains and updates the necessary documentation, ensuring transparency of processes and compliance with requirements. The integrated management system and its outcomes are regularly evaluated to foster ongoing improvement. The Virology National Laboratory is committed to research excellence, continuous system enhancement and serving society and industry. Both management and staff are dedicated to meeting objectives and maintaining quality.
