I joined the VNL team as a PhD student in September 2022. Before that, I did not specifically work with viruses before, but during the Covid-19 epidemic, I participated in diagnostic work related to viral infections. I have been interested in viruses for a long time, they are quiet simple biological organisms, but they can often surprise us. In the VNL team, I finally had the opportunity to research viruses. I am currently working with alphaviruses, especially with Chikungunya and Sindbis viruses, and I am involved in antiviral agents testing. In addition to the activity of the active antiviral drugs, our aim is to investigate their mechanism of action, the resistance that can develop against them, as well as to include different cell lines in the tests.
