Three students from the Prohászka Ottokár Catholic High School received a special prize for their outstanding performance at the Lauder Innovation Marathon, which gave thirteen of the school's students an insight into the life of virologists in Pécs in October.
During the visit, the future researchers were able to learn about the work of the Szentágothai János Research Centre and the National Laboratory of Virology, and thanks to the researchers, they were able to experience the beauty of being a virologist and what it is like to be a researcher in the field.
Afterwards, the students also visited the virology laboratory, where they experienced what it feels like to have only one door to protect them from the most dangerous pathogens. Then, the braver ones could really get into the "researchers' shoes", as the students even got to try on the hazmat suits.
